You can now use an authenticator app as your preferred method for two-factor authentication in Hub.

How it worked before

When two-factor authentication was enabled for an account, customers normally received their verification code by email. An authenticator app could not be selected as a personal sign-in preference.

What has changed

Open your Hub profile, select Login & security and set up an authenticator app. You can scan the QR code or enter the setup key manually, then confirm the connection using a six-digit code.

Compatible apps include:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • 1Password

Once connected, you can choose the authenticator app as your preferred verification method. Email verification remains available as a fallback if you cannot use the app.

Your preference will be used when two-factor authentication is enabled for your Webfactory account.

Why this is better

Authenticator codes are generated directly on your device, so you do not need to wait for a verification email to arrive. It gives each team member more choice over how they verify their identity and can make secure sign-ins quicker and more convenient.

Webshops using Klarna can now display Klarna On-site Messaging alongside product prices.

How it worked before

Displaying Klarna messaging depended on a manually installed Klarna library and additional site setup. The Klarna client identifier was not managed through the normal Webshop payment settings, making the feature more difficult to configure and maintain.

What has changed

You can now enter your Klarna client identifier in the Klarna section of your Webshop payment settings and enable the Klarna widget.

When configured, Klarna promotional payment messaging can appear with the visible price on eligible product pages.

Your client identifier is available from the Klarna Merchant Portal under Conversion boosters and On-site messaging. Klarna uses different identifiers for its production and playground environments, so make sure you enter the one for the environment used by your Webshop.

Why this is better

Klarna messaging can now be configured through a supported Webshop setting instead of relying on custom installation work. This makes the setup easier to manage and helps ensure your website uses Klarna’s current Web SDK.

Website Manager now gives you clearer feedback while uploaded images are being prepared.

How it worked before

The system confirmed that an image was being processed with a general message, but the position where the image would appear did not clearly show its progress. You might need to wait, reload the page or check again later to see whether processing had finished.

What has changed

When you upload or rotate an image, its space remains visible with a processing message. The finished image appears automatically when it is ready.

You can now see when:

  • An image has been received
  • The image is still being processed
  • Processing is taking a little longer than usual
  • The finished image is ready

The preview also retains the intended image proportions, helping to prevent the page layout from jumping when the final image appears.

This applies to gallery and item images, including Webshop product images.

Why this is better

You can continue working with a clearer view of what the system is doing. There is less uncertainty, less need to reload the page and less chance of uploading the same image again because it appears to be missing.

You can now make a payment towards your Webfactory account balance from Account & billing in Hub.

How it worked before

Payment reminders and older account-payment links could take you outside the main Hub billing area. This meant your balance, payment method and payment journey were not always shown together.

What has changed

Open Account & billing, select Invoices & payments and choose Make a payment. From there, you can:

  • Pay the full balance or enter a different amount
  • Make a partial payment
  • Pay extra and leave the remainder as credit on your account
  • Use a saved card or active Direct Debit
  • Enter new card or Direct Debit details
  • Choose whether new details should be used for future automatic payments

Card payments may require approval from your bank. Direct Debit payments normally take four working days using an existing mandate, or up to seven working days when setting up a new one.

This option is available to team members who can manage billing.

Why this is better

You can now see your account balance and complete the payment in one signed-in, account-specific place. It also gives you more control over how much you pay and which payment method you use, with clearer information about what happens next.

Creating a Webshop product is now quicker when your shop contains several departments.

How it worked before

The Add product window displayed a single department selector. You could choose only one department while creating the product and then had to edit it afterwards to add it to any additional departments.

Long or nested department lists could also make it difficult to find the right location.

What has changed

The Add product window now includes a searchable department list. Start typing to filter the available departments, then select one or more before saving the product.

The updated selector:

  • Searches department names and their location within your shop
  • Allows several departments to be selected at once
  • Keeps your selections while you continue searching
  • Shows how many matching and selected departments there are
  • Preselects the current department when you add a product from within it

The selector appears when departments have been created in your Webshop.

Why this is better

You can place a new product in all the relevant departments as part of the initial setup, reducing follow-up editing. Search also makes large or deeply organised department lists much easier to navigate.

A new Gallery Slider element is now available, making it easier to turn your existing gallery images into a slideshow.

The Gallery Slider can pull images directly from an existing gallery page or element, so there’s no need to add a separate image slider and upload the images again.

It also includes two useful display settings:

  • Crop Ratio – Choose a different crop ratio from the gallery you’re feeding images from. The crop ratio is set directly within the Gallery Slider element.
  • Image Fit – Choose between cover and contain. cover fills the selected crop ratio, while contain keeps the original image dimensions within the crop area.

These settings give you more flexibility when using images from grid and masonry galleries, allowing you to choose exactly how they display within the slider.

We’ve made an update that gives you more control over how your website pages appear when they’re shared on social media and other platforms.

You can now set your Open Graph tags in the following areas:

  • Website Settings > Share Optimisation
  • Page Settings > Share Optimisation
  • Products, Itemlister Items and Properties > Share Optimisation

For each area, you can set a title, description and share-optimised image. You’ll also see a preview of how the content will appear when shared.

This makes it easier to control how your pages, products and other content are presented when they’re shared online.

We’ve made an update to Recruitment websites, giving you more flexibility when creating your application forms.

You can now add up to eight custom questions to an application form, increased from the previous limit of five. These additional fields can be managed within your Recruitment settings under Application page custom fields.

For each question, you can choose:

  • Single-line text field
  • Larger text area
  • Checkbox
  • File upload
  • Whether the question is required
  • Optional guidance for applicants
  • The width the question uses on the application form

Your existing recruitment application forms will remain unchanged unless you choose to configure the additional fields.

Make your vacancies easier to find by adding the new Google Jobs feed to your recruitment site.

What you can include

  • Workplace type, including on-site, hybrid or remote
  • Job location
  • Salary details
  • Whether each vacancy should be sent to Google

Once the add-on is active, you can complete these details in the vacancy editor. Webfactory will automatically notify Google when an eligible vacancy is added, changed or removed, helping the information stay up to date without you submitting each vacancy manually.

Google ultimately decides which vacancies appear in its job results, so inclusion cannot be guaranteed. The new feed gives Google the structured information it needs to consider your vacancies.

Recruitment application forms can now include up to eight custom questions, increased from five.

Choose how candidates respond

  • Short text for concise answers
  • Longer text for more detailed responses
  • Checkboxes for confirmations or agreements
  • File uploads for supporting documents

You can add helpful guidance to explain what information is required and make individual questions compulsory when an answer is essential.

Each field’s width can also be adjusted, giving you more control over the layout of the application form. This makes it easier to collect the information your recruitment process needs while keeping the form clear and straightforward for candidates.
